summer clothes

Shopping for clothes can be frustrating for me. It seems like I have a ton of clothes especially to anyone who has seen our closet but most of them don’t fit me right now. After having babies my body has been what seems like every size out there. After Hallie I didn’t loose the weight instantly in fact it was slow but steady, so I have clothes in all kinds of sizes as I lost weight. Since it has been getting hot it has been kind of uncomfortable because all I had to wear were jeans, the shorts I bought last year are way too big. I like to shop but I usually just look at stuff for Hallie because she is so EASY to shop for. Shopping for myself though is another story. Shorts are the worst to find because they are never long enough. I’m glad bermuda style shorts are in style but alot of times they are just an inch too short or something. Berret finally made me go shopping for some summer clothes though and I’m so glad he did. I now have clothes to stay cool in and my shorts are no longer bunched up around my waist with a belt. Berret is happy too because I don’t whine every time I go into the closet to get dressed :). Thanks Berret, you were right!

(I took off all of the annoying tie strings on this top and bottom pairs.)310vwq3t80L__AA260_At American Eagle they were having 20% off their clearance and they had some good sales at Target. The first pair shorts are from AE, I was also able to find some shirts for less than $4 each. The black shorts are from Target and were on sale for $12. To top it off I had a coupon at gap and got 2 leather belts at $3.50 each. Yahoo for good deals! (I realize the shorts from AE almost look like men’s shorts in the pic but they fit like the shorts from Target and are much cuter on and in an outfit.)

stake center

These pictures were taken by my Grandpa Nielson of the stake center being built in 1964.  My mom’s family help with other church members to build it.  My mom did things like rubbing bricks together to clean them, carrying things around to people, clean up, helping with meals for the workers, etc.  This is the building I went to church in from the time I was about five till I went to school and got married.  I remember many Sunday meetings, mutuals, young womens, early morning seminary, and other fun activities held here.  I’ve gone to funeral services in this building.  Including my Grandma Nielsons when I was in the third grade.  At my brother Dale’s funeral, there were so many people that filled this building that day to show love and support towards me and family at a delicate time.  I had a great ward growing up that loved me and amazing leaders who really cared.  I’m sure many of you have heard the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child,” my “village” met here every Sunday.  I was baptized in this building and my wedding reception was held here after being married in the Portland Temple.  The Gospel is the same where ever you go I’m just saying this building holds alot of great memories for me.  I plan on ordering these two prints to hang in my home of this special place.  If you’d like to see other pictures go HERE.

hot hot

We have been enjoying some beautiful weather here, it has been nice and hot.  Friday night when Berret got home from work we went swimming.  Hallie loves playing with her daddy in the pool.  He dunks her a ton and she uses every bit of energy she has to play.  I guess she used too much this time though.  The next day she was sick with a fever and did ALOT of sleeping this weekend.  She still isn’t better but she is happy and handling it great.  These pictures are from Berret’s phone of her playing with oven mitts (she certainly doesn’t need fancy toys).

sunny day

Today is gorgeous!!!  This morning I jogged with Hallie to the park and she got to go on the playground with lots of big kids.  She even swung on a regular swing for a little bit all by herself.  She loves when she can be independent.  Then we came home and Hallie took a nap.  While she napped I got things ready for SWIMMING!  I blew up her starfish and everything.  She loved playing in the water and seeing all the other kids.  Now she is taking her second nap.  Yay for beautiful sunny days!

She loved snacking on grapes while she dried off.

Oh and when Berret gets home tonight we are going to Costco with some friends.  Hallie is going to get lots of walking in there,  she is going to sleep great tonight.

grass clippings

Yesterday Hallie and I went to the park.  The grass had been recently mowed and there was lots of grass clippings everywhere.  Hallie had a blast playing in them.  We also played some frisbee which was more like playing fetch.  It was a bit windy but I can’t wait till we have some consistency when it comes to nice days for going to the park.

aunt & uncle

*update: Berret pointed out to me that the trampoline post, I posted the second video twice instead of the third one being different. I just fixed this and there is now a third short video.

These are yet even more pictures from our April trip to visit our families. Better late than never, right? The night before we left we were able to visit my uncle Charlie and aunt Donna. It was a really nice visit and Donna even made us some amazing cookies for our trip home. Thanks Donna we enjoyed EVERY cookie.
