berret's graduation and more...

We had a very busy week this last week. Hallie is now 3 months old (her calendar pics will come later). Berret finished up the last of his finals and did great on them. Berret's side of the family came to visit for BERRET'S GRADUATION! We got to spend lots of time with the family and take new family pictures with the two newest members (those pics will also be coming later). The Peacocks were also in town and we had lots of fun seeing them. Then we had a wonderful Easter weekend.

Berret graduated Magna Cum Laude meaning he was in the top 5 percent of the graduating class

We had lots of fun with our nephews Berret played all sorts of games with them. Gavin is so big now and has lots of energy.

Friday we took family pictures and we were out almost all day long with pictures, dinner at Grandmas and swimming. I love Hallie's facial expression in this picture.

The family left late Saturday night and made it home safely Sunday morning. We are so glad they came to visit. Thank you for making such a long, long, long drive!

Easter Sunday!

We had good meetings at church and had a relaxing time at home. Hallie looked beautiful in her Easter dress from the Peacocks. Thank you Peacocks.

This last week has been very busy: Berret graduated, family came to visit, and we learned how badly Hallie needs her long nap during the day in her crib. Specifics and more pictures will come very soon, but for now...

bedtime stories

Tonight we were getting Hallie ready for bed and she started talking to Berret alot. She really seems to talk to Berret at night if he is changing her, telling him all about her day I guess. I run to get the camera and of course she isn't talking as much when I have the carmera out. Well this gives an idea of what her talking is like.

Hallie is almost all better! She has a little cough but even that is nearly gone. She doesn't need the humidifier at night anymore either. She should be completely healthy and happy for next week when she meets more of her family that is coming to visit.

sick, but getting better

Hallie's cold got worse and on Thursday we decided to take her to the doctor. We found out that she was starting to get a double ear infection along with the cold so she is now on antibiotics for that. As for the cold we found out that she has RSV. RSV can be scary if a baby stops eating well and doesn't move around alot or they are having too much difficulty breathing. She is doing really well though, she is still eating great and when she is awake she is quite active and happy. They checked her oxygen level and it was going good. Berret gave her a blessing on Thursday and Friday morning she wasn't coughing nearly as much and she didn't seem as congested. Today she is doing even better. I think she still has a while till she is completely over it but it looks like she is past the worst of it.

The videos have been taken since she has been sick, you can see how active she still is. The first is in her new jumper. She a bit small for it, that is why there are blankets packed around her. She really enjoys being in it and looking around. She hasn't figured out how to jump much in it but that will come. The second video is of her playing with her baby gym. I know now why they call them baby gyms, she gets so excited she wiggles tons. Well I hope you enjoy the videos.

Hallie's cold has gotten worse so I'm really hoping that now she can start getting better. She is still quite happy though she just needs alot of attention and likes to be held alot more even when she is sleeping.

Last night Hallie rolled over for the first time, tummy to back. She did it four times but the video below is the best I could get of catching it.

Hallie is certainly growing fast and it is so fun to watch her. She is starting to fit into some of her 3-6 months stuff sorta. Then there is some of her 0-3 clothes that are still kind of big, childrens clothing is sized really wierd and isn't very consistent. Weather it is the bigger 0-3 or the smaller 3-6 clothing she is starting to move on to a new wardrobe.

Hallie has had a cold the last couple of days with a runny noise and a little cough. Hopefully she is done getting worse and can start getting better. She is still very happy though, the cold hardly seems to phase her. She is so tough I'm sure she'll be over it in no time.

march 2 months

This post is a bit late but Hallie is 2 months old. She had her 2 month well baby visit last Friday. She weighs 10.9 pounds and is in the 53 percentile for weight. She is 22.3 inches long which is the 47 percentile for height. She is a very happy and healthy little girl.
Hallie likes to look at toys now. Berret and I have had fun bringing out some of the toys and seeing her react to them. You can see how intrigued she is by the floppy dog that aunt Donna made below. The two toys she has liked the most so far have been that floppy dog and a pink poodle. She started to get fussy while we were taking her picture and the floppy dog did the trick of calming her down.
Hallie now can lift her head very high and hold it up there for quite some time and just look around at everything. She is also starting to make more of a variety of noises. Hallie is smiling more and more too. Berret and I are probably smiling more now too because Hallie for about the last 2 weeks or so has been sleeping through the night :). She is a really good baby.

the weekend

Before I talk all about the weekend Berret is 25! Happy Birthday Berret!!!
Now this weekend started out with a surprise party for Berret. I had been planning it for a while and everything turned out great. Decorating I had Liz, Collette, and Erica to help, I wouldn't have been able to do it all since the movie went to watch was only an hour and a half. Liz and I moved around tons of furniture to assure fitting all the people. The guys made sure Berret got back at the proper time for the surprise. When Berret came home he was completely surprised. He even said happy birthday to Collette because he was so shocked. At the party we had more people over than we have ever had. There were 19 adults, 1 toddler, and 3 babies. It was lots of fun.Collette drove up from Utah for the party and to meet Hallie :) What a great friend.
The next day Collette and Erica were able to come over and have lunch with us. I think Hallie enjoyed getting to know Collette (auntie coco).

and we were all entertained by Erica playing the Wii. We love it when Peacocks come over.

Then Hallie got to spend time with her cousin Danielle. While Warren, Allison, and Danielle were over we did a video call with papa Wes and nana Jill and even got to see Logan and Gavin.maybe you could call this their playtime?

We ended the weekend with the Talberts coming over to play and hang out. Wow, what a great weekend.

Hallie looked beautiful in her blessing dress. I made her dress out of my wedding dress. Yes I cut up my wedding dress, it is not like I'll be wearing it again. I started the dress in a class fall semester and because I'm a procrastinator I wasn't finished till the Saturday before her blessing. I finished it though and she was so cute in it.
yep, those are buttons and they were a pain to do for various reasons...

Hallie is 7 weeks old today! She is a very active baby. She keeps getting better at lifing her head up and she likes to kick her legs around alot. Look how high she can lift her head and check out her little leg kicking around like crazy :).

exercise + updates

Well I am now ok to go exercising for real now, more than just walking. Last night Berret and I went to the gym and took Hallie in her stroller. Hallie did great and slept the whole time and I actually jogged on the treadmill. Hallie also has exercises of her own. Look at her and how well she lifts up her head. She can lift her head even higher but the last picture is the highest I've been able to capture with the camera. She is so strong!

As for lately with us Hallie had a little cold last week and we took her to the doctor and it was not anything serious we just had to let it run its course. She was doing tons better by the end of the week. We were able to enjoy a 3 day weekend with Berret because of President's day on Monday. Sunday we all went to church for the first time since Hallie was born. We only went for Sacrament meeting because we don't want a bunch of people trying to touch Hallie and spread germs. It was nice to be there as a family though. After church we went to Brad and Ally's for dinner. We had lots of good food and FUN over there.

We also got to bring Erica with us to dinner and let her see Hallie for the first time. Hallie has random bouts of fussiness and this happened while Erica was holding her.

The fussiness never lasts long though this next picture was taken shortly after the previous picture.

On Monday Berret was able to go snowboarding for the first time in a long time. He seemed to have had a blast. I hung out with Erica again on Monday and my friend Liz did mine and Erica's hair. It was a good weekend and now we are back to the usual.

february 1 month

Hallie is 1 month old!

Plus a pic of Hallie in the bear suit to make a short venture outside. She tends to fall asleep when we put her in it because it is so warm and soft.

one month older and bigger too!

Today is February 6th and that means Hallie is a month old! She is finally starting to be too big for her new born clothes and is fitting in the 0-3 months clothes. She is growing fast and her cheeks keep getting chubbier and chubbier. She is also doing even better at lifting her head up when she is on her tummy. She can flip sides quite easily and she can lift her head up even higher in the middle and hold it longer. Hallie is doing some really cute open mouthed smiles. We are still working on trying to capture one but we always seem to miss them. Oh and she is awake more and more now too.

Allison came over last week with Danielle. It was really nice to see some faces from the outside world. We don't really take Hallie out much yet. I am also not supposed to be lifting her in the car seat yet either so If I ever want to go out Berret has to watch Hallie or we both go and Berret has to carry her in the car seat. It was lots of fun having Danielle and Hallie together. I think Hallie liked her bonding time with her cousin!

There is a big black shelf on the wall above the changing table that Hallie loves to look at the bottom of. There is nothing hanging from it, it is just a shelf against against the white wall. I guess she just likes the contrast. She finds it so interesting, she is a funny little girl.

It makes for some easy diaper changes when she catches sight of it. Look how focused she is.
