rest of the portland trip

Berret got into to Portland Saturday morning. I was really sick with back pain and throwing up and such and it was soooo nice to have him back and he was so nice to take care of me. Hallie was pretty excited to have her daddy back too. Later that day we had a little get together with my aunts and uncles. Here we are with my aunts and uncles. Funny story...Phillip had to go to work Saturday night and on his was to work a kid threw up on him in the max train or tri-met bus-I'm sure which. Therefore Mike and Sam went to go pick him up and that why they aren't in this picture. So gross but it really kind of worked out because it made so Phillip could be with all of us Saturday night after I started to feel better. Computers...Hallie definately has some Garlick in her. Hallie with the laptop that is just her size.Hallie sure liked my brothers...the feeling was mutual I think.Phillip is even smiling in this picture!!!Sunday we got to spend some more time with Berret's family and have fun playing around.Monday Berret and I went out with the Forts and Berret got his Truffle Hunter fill. After Truffle Hunter Berret and I went to Ikea to just walk around in the AC and just be together. Oh and we were baby free this night because Jill and Wes watch Hallie for us. We also got to borrow the mustang and drive with the top down...it was a beautiful night. Then we were off to Idaho again.Don't let this picture fool you...Hallie does not like long drives. She did great though even though she was sick.

We had lots of fun in Portland and Washington but it was really nice to go home and work on getting a routine again. Hallie and I also learned that we don't want to go with out Berret that long again. We're excited for our nixt trip out there to visit during Thanksgiving.

july 6 months

This post is quite late, Hallie is now 6 months and 3 weeks old now. These pictures were taken the night before we left for our trip. It was apparently a little late for to be photographed because she was tired enough we couldn't really get pictures without those fingers. For Hallie's 6 months stats and skills - weight 15.9 pounds (37 percentile) height 26 inches (48 percentile). Skills Hallie had a 6 months included - rolling all over the place * sitting up very steady and for longer periods of time * beginning to get up on all fours and rocking * tryed to crawl forward but made more progress backward instead * discovered how to blow rasberries and play with her tongue more and stick it out. Hallie is so much fun and has lots of curiosity in her and can be quite wild at times.Hallie has been growing like crazy it feels like. On the trip where we were gone for almost 3 weeks she grew out of alot of the clothes I packed for her. She also was learning how to do lots of new things while we were away from home. On the trip she was doing tons of rocking on all fours. She learned to move forward with an army crawl that has gotten even faster since being home. On the trip she also was able to sit her self up in a pack and play with the assistance of the walls. She now sits her self up with out any kind of assistance on a regular basis. She is starting to get her hands figured out to do a crawl on all fours. She can get around all over the apartment, while Berret and I and eating dinner we will set her in the living room to play and she will end up underneath the table playing with our feet while we eat. She is now doing tons better eating rice cereal. After discovering her tongue she started making lots of new noises like dadadadadadada.

shipping box

She is a sneakly little thing...I think Hallie was trying to find a way to get to daddy sooner. I convinced her otherwise and she'll be anxiously waiting for him to come on Saturday.

Logan's cartwheel

off to Portland

On Sunday we packed up and headed out. Hallie and I went off to Portland while Berret went to Idaho :(. Portland has been lots of fun so far but it is very hard being away from Berret. I've been letting Hallie hear Berret on speaker phone and she gets so excited to hear his voice and upset when it goes away. We both can't wait till he get hear and we can hold and snuggle him. I don't think Hallie can hardly wait to slobber all over him.As for driving in the car with Hallie she does amazing the first few hours then she gets VERY tired of the carseat. I'm not sure what are plans at going to be for the drive home are yet. I think no matter what we do it is going to be very difficult.

silver wood and camping

Silverwood was lots of fun. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was great spending the time with family.papa and gavinthe most intense ride you'll catch me on...the log riderelaxingHallie enjoyed her first time going swimmingshe has no fear when it comes to grassa nap in the shade after a long day at the parkCamping went well, we didn't actually stay in a tent we got to stay in the tent trailor to keep the babies nice and warm.Hallie really liked her cousin Logan. leaving today

This afternoon I will be picking up Berret and we'll be headed out to Coeur d'Alene Idaho. There we will be enjoying seeing Berret's side of the family, camping, and the Silverwood Theme Park. After that Hallie and I will be off to Portland where I'll be staying with my family for 2 weeks. I'm really excited to have Hallie on this trip, she gets to experience some firsts-
-really long drive (I'm a bit nervous about this part, but I'm hoping she does well with it.)
-camping, in a tent and everything
-swimming, I'm so exctied to see her in her swimsuit trying out the water
-seeing more family and friends from my side for the first time
-being away from home for a long time (This part I'm sure will be hard for the both of us. Berret won't be coming to Portland for 2 weeks. I have never been away from him that long and Hallie certainly hasn't either.)
-oh and I'm pretty sure she is going to get to experience some Ikea and tagging along at some fun restraunts

I'm am anxious to get going. It is hard to pack for though, Hallie has more stuff than I do and it is hard deciding what I should and shouldn't take for her.

Well I'm off to finish everything I need to before leaving.

we're still here

HELLO...we haven't disappeared, I've just been a lazy blogger.Moving was alot of work but we had lots of awesome people to help. We were unpacked after a couple of days and are still getting things organized. We really enjoy our new apartment. This pic was taken after doing lots and lots of unpacking. What have we been up too? Well Hallie still love rolling underneath things. We've been enjoying the new jogging stroller. We are trying to get Hallie started on rice cereal...she is not a big fan.Oh Yes and...Hallie has been working on this new trick. (This was taken last week and wasn't the best of her lifting her self up. She is bringing herself up even more now and occasionally rocking while up.) You can tell she really wants to crawl, I think in the near future we will be in for it.That is pretty much it we aren't that interesting. We are very excited though that this weekend we will be meeting Berret's family in to go to Silverwood (a theme Park). After that Hallie and I will be in Porland for 2 weeks and then Berret will be go to Portland for few days too.

baby or animal?

These videos were actually taken a couple of weeks ago before we moved. Hallie has been into growling lately. The first video shows her growling a little bit but she was mostly done by the time I got the camera.

june 5 months

5 months old! Hallie is growing and learning fast. She now rolls all over the place; over toys, across rooms, she loves exploring. She grabs onto toys more and is able to hold onto them longer. She will even find ways to get toys if they are not aready nearby. Sitting up with out any assistance is becoming more and more frequent. She is a social baby and loves seeing new people and giving them the biggest smile she can. It is so fun to hear all the laughing she does now. She is starting to try and bring her knees underneath her while supporting herself with her arms on her tummy (I've only seen this a few times though). She is so fun, it is hard to pick just a few of these pictures to post because there are so many cute ones. I don't understand how it is possible but there isn't a cap to her cuteness, she gets cuter everyday!

down size

I recently got to do a very special sewing project. My good friend Ally's parents are in Africa on a mission. They sent her a dress to be used for Brooke's blessing. There was apparently some confusion with the person who made the dress because it was HUGE. I got to make it baby size. I was really nervous about taking the dress apart because I didn't want to do anything to ruin it and I wanted to keep the same style. I had the dress for quite awhile before I actually started work on it. I pulled it out every now and then to look at it and think about how I would tackle it. I'm glad I took that time because some of the other ways I could have done it wouldn't have turned out as well. I made alterations to the pattern I had since I was working with an existing form that couldn't just be altered in anyway. I had to use some tricks my old sewing teachers wouldn't have considered "proper" but the over all product turned out really well.
(This picture of Hunter makes me laugh every time I see it for some reason. It is just kind of humorous how big the dress is. Hunter is all boy and knows it is a dress, he is so smart, it just cracks me up.)The dress all done. Brooke was beautiful in it. To see pictures of Brooke in the dress go HERE. Brooke's dress was specially imported from Africa with custom alterations made in the U.S. :)
