egg hunt at grandmas

Hallie was prepped for egg hunting from a hunt our apartment complex held the Friday before Easter.  Saturday afternoon the weather was beautiful and we had an egg hunt at Berret’s grandma’s house.

The girls discussed and decided it was best to divide and conquer.  Then they went quickly on their way.

Hallie found it helpful to call out to the eggs, “wha r you.”  Picture on the left shows her searching stance.

The girls met up at the trove of eggs and frantically gathered.  Then went their separate ways again.

“Um I just shook this egg and I didn’t hear any candy.  I guess I’ll take it anyways.”

Hallie then teamed up with great grandma to gain her expert eye.

More pictures to come of the treasure inside the eggs.

playing in pigtails

Hallie can finally have real pigtails!  The real triumphant part though is she never had a mullet to get the pigtails.  Lots of little girls can have pigtails way sooner but they usually have the mullet to do so.  I know myself and I am not dedicated enough to fix up Hallie’s hair every morning and after ever nap.  We opted to get Hallie regular haircuts to keep the mullet in check while the rest of her hair caught up with the back.  How does Hallie feel about the pigtails?  She thinks they are cute and is very proud of them once they are in.  I think she also likes that it keeps the hair out of her face, especially at the park on a windy day.  Getting the pigtails in though is another story, she HATES that part.

These pictures were taken a few days before Easter.  The weather here has been crazy.  It can be sunny one day and snowy the next.  Even though it was a little chilly that day we took advantage of the sun.  Hallie was so excited to play she try to rush Ashlynne along after her nap.  Hallie even tried to help me get Ashlynne’s shoes and everything on.  Then we had some fun outside.

Hallie would go down the slide while Ashlynne watched.  They would both laugh when Hallie got to the bottom.

new ride (exterior)

This afternoon we went for a little drive.  Hallie enjoyed the curvy roads and hills, she would say “weeeee”  for each dip or turn.

Hallie is actually excited when we get in the car now.  We have more space to maneuver her in there and are able to get her buckled in faster.  As soon as we all sit down Hallie points to the compartment her sunglasses are kept in.  She then puts them on, not always the right way but she manages.

Now for the car.

This little girl thinks she is the bee’s knees.  I would have to agree.

new ride (interior)

We got a new car!  It is a Hyundai Santa Fe.  We have all been loving the new ride.  It has so much space all over and some great features.  The back seat can fit an adult comfortably even with Hallie’s huge Britax carseat.  Our next trip to Portland is going to be soooooo much more comfortable.

conference weekend

This weekend we have been enjoying conference over the radio.  To keep Hallie from getting too crazy while we try to listen we have had some quiet activities to work on.  I cut out a bunch of Easter eggs and we all colored.

Princess Hallie is anxiously awaiting spring in her ladybug dress.  Spring around here though has been lots of wind and crazy weather.

Nana Jill made both of these dresses for Hallie.  Hallie just loves them.

patty’s day green smoothie

Hallie loves smoothies.  She likes watching me make them and she likes it even more when it is time to eat them.  For Hallie’s snack/dinner when she woke up from her nap she helped me make a green smoothie.  I make most of our smoothies green even when it isn’t St. Patrick’s day because I like to add lots of spinach.
