october 1 month

I’ll be doing monthly pictures with Lincoln like I did with Hallie to track growth.  Lincoln now has some good rolls on him.  He started out so skinny so it is nice to see some chubs on him.  He is really strong and spassy and has rolled over once by accident.  Lincoln will actually take a pacifier unlike Hallie.  His fist works too when he finds it.  We hear lots of grunting duck noises from him still but he is starting to some softer cues that are cute.  He smiles when he has a full tummy and is being held.  Attacking with kisses will also make him smile.  We just love our little man.DSC_0002

I didn’t have a sign ready for his first set of pictures.  I think he is about 3 weeks old in the pictures below.  We didn’t get the pictures done right away because the first week we were so busy getting used to things and the second week he had a crazy eye infection that took about a week to clear up.

jumping on the bed

I don’t normally let Hallie jump on the bed but she was grouchy the other day so this was something fun she could do.  She jumped and worked on her dance moves while listening to pandora.

You’ll notice in a lot of these pictures Hallie looking at the side wall because of a mirror there.

Letting her jump on the bed this time worked out especially well because it help put Lincoln to sleep.

hallie & lincoln

Hallie loves her little brother.  She definitely can get jealous at times and not want to share people with him, but she handles it pretty well.  These were taken awhile ago and Lincoln is much chunkier now.  He  is even starting to really smile which I need to catch a picture of.  Hallie will sometimes try and play with Lincoln and likes to see him react to stuff mostly her trying to scare him with her monster growl.  This morning though Lincoln was looking right at his sister and smiling.  Hallie would laugh and he would smile more, it was pretty cute to watch.

pumpkin carving

We had a fun evening with family carving pumpkins.  The kids loved playing with all the squishy pumpkin guts.  Kurt, Berret, and I did the carving.  Kurt and boys worked on the reaper.  Berret, Hallie, and I did the cat bat.  Before the pumpkin carving we got to enjoy some yummy soups Jill made.

going home

Monday, our third day at the hospital I was anxious to get home.  We had to wait till my doctor came in the evening to clear me for leaving.  Once we had the go ahead we packed up fast and got out of there.  It is so hard to really rest in the hospital with nurses and other people barging in all the time.

By the way Hallie wore the same outfit when we brought her home.

day 2

Our second day in the hospital we were able to have Hallie with us most of the day.  She stayed busy coloring in the morning and watching some shows.  Then my family came to visit and was quite the entertainer as usual.  “Cuncle” Phillip wore her out playing and she fell asleep on my bed even while everyone was there.

These are grapes in Hallie’s mouth.  The grapes make her face look square like the old man in UP.

meeting little brother

After we were in our room for a bit and had some time to rest Hallie came to meet her new brother.

Hallie has been doing good with Lincoln.  She has had lots of attention though.  The first week home with Lincoln she got to go out with Nana everywhere and she really liked that.  This week Berret has been on paternity leave so Hallie has had lots of good bapa time and went on special outings with him.  I guess we’ll see later how she handles having a new brother when she is stuck more with me and has to share the attention.  Right now she is so sweet to him.  Hallie gets really excited whenever we offer to let her hold him.  When Lincoln cries Hallie tries to comfort him by giving him toys, blankets, and kisses.  She is always saying how cute he is and loves when he is awake.  I just hope it continues.
