I’m pretty much in disbelief that Hallie is two but it is true and I need to except it. We just love her and are thankful to be her parents. I wish she would slow down on this growing up thing though.
Since Hallie’s birthday landed on a weekday we didn’t do much on her actual day. On Saturday we made up for that and had party. We kept is simple just cake with ice cream and watching Hallie open her gifts. Hallie knows how to entertain a crowd so we let her take care of that part.
When target was clearancing all of their holiday stuff I picked up some tissue paper to try these pom poms I’ve seen all over the place. I used this tutorial but my sheets were smaller and I used more of them to make sure the pom poms looked full. They were super easy and fun to work on. The garland is just twine with purple duct tape left over from another project. Hallie loved the decorations and would just look up at them staring and talking excited gibberish.
And the cake! We made it for new years and loved it so much we decided to do it again. Hallie hadn’t had the cake yet since she didn’t stay up late enough on new year’s eve. Berret and I then chowed down on the left overs once she was asleep every night. So I thought it would be something new and fun for her to try, too bad she didn’t like it. Hallie wasn’t too disappointed though she made do with Tillamook’s marionberry pie ice cream we served with it. Cake recipe HERE via this blog, a fun blog to follow.
There were balloons, and the girls did far more at the party than laying around staring at them. If you saw my new years post you know my Hals can bust some serious moves.
Be excited to see the rest of the party pictures!

The beginnings of a celestial observer -- great beginning watching the pom poms in the sky -- looks so cloud like in the pictures and from the observation of the girls on the bean bag it must be so-- I love the shadows the pom poms made and the purple bits like stars around--
The cake looked amazing -- I am surprised Hallie did not seem to like it -- maybe she does not like her oranges around so much sweet.
Thank you so much for sharing the pictures of such a happy time!
ahhh! The recipe! Thanks you, it was divine- i will be making it for company asap!
