he’s here

Lincoln.  6 lbs 4 oz.  19 1/2 inches.  9/10/11 at 12:16 PM.  Perfect.

Doesn’t he have a cool birthday, it will make it easy to remember.  Anyways, we are just loving our new little man.  We have been busy adjusting and recovering but we are all doing well.  I can’t believe it has taken me so long to make a post about his arrival.  I think I will be making lots of posts in the next few days because there is lots to catch up on.

Lincoln was delivered through a scheduled c-section.  The surgery was scheduled to start at noon and Berret and I were supposed to be at the hospital at 10 AM.  We were a bit late to the hospital but there was still tons of time waiting around.  Preparation for the surgery seems like such a slow process but part of that might be how anxious we felt.  Once in the O.R. though things seem to go really fast.

   

Then I was taken to a recovery room and Lincoln was taken to the nursery.  They wanted to watch him for awhile while he coughed out some of the fluid in his lungs.  For about about 45 minutes or so Berret went back and forth between Lincoln and me.  Lincoln was brought to me before leaving the recovery room and he started eating right away.  He eats like a champ which is so nice.  When Hallie was born we struggled for weeks with nursing.  We had to hang out in the small recovery room for quite awhile because all of the rooms were full.  The rooms were pretty nice though and big.

 

Lincoln has his 2 week check up tomorrow so we’ll get to see how much he weighs and such.
